"Scattered Geraniums" Wall Art Quilt Sunprint Series- 13"x17". Regular Price- US US $95.00

This Art Quilt for the wall features sunprints of hardy geranium leaves and flowers, a couple ferns and butterflies and a hummingbird shape on fabric painted in deep shades of blue, green and rose with a touch of yellow. The sunprints are from one panel that was cut up, with the pieces repositioned and accented with narrow stripes of an ivory fabric. The sunprints and are freemotion quilted with gold metallic thread. The areas around the prints are quilted with clear thread, and the stripes of ivory are quilted with a pastel variegated thread. Seams between the sunprints and ivory fabric are covered with assorted decorative yarns couched on using the gold metallic thread with various decorative stitches. The edges are bound with a deep blue nubby yarn couched with the gold thread.

This piece will add a lot of interest to any wall. It has a hanging sleeve on the back to make hanging easy.

As with the rest of my art quilts, this is a One-Of-A-Kind, as I can never exactly reproduce the fabrics I paint.

Sunprints are made by placing leaves, flowers, thin foam sheet cutouts (for butterflies or hummingbirds), and(or) any other flat items onto freshly painted cotton fabric, while the paint is still wet, and placed in the sun to dry. The combination of sun and humidity affect the speed at which the paint dries. If conditions are ideal, the color moves from under the leaves, flowers, or other items, resulting in the sunprint. No two can be the same, due to different drying conditions and paint color combinations. Every print is a unique original.
