"Pink Iris #7" Art Quilt for framing from the Botanical Applique Series- 11"x14". Reg.price- US $60.00

A pink Iris flower and bud were cut from a fabric along with leaves from another fabric, and all were arranged and appliqued onto a piece of hand painted fabric. The center fabric is bordered by a light ivory fabric to resemble a mat for framing. Freemotion quilting accents the flower and background, with a vinelike pattern quilted in the border. The edges are finished with a narrow satin stitch.

The Botanical Applique series of art quilts are my version of the Botanical Prints that I love so much. Each has a simple stem of flowers appliqued over a hand painted background fabric. The ivory border acts as a mat for the floral arrangement, and it can be put right into a standard 11x14" frame as it is, or it could be further matted for a larger presentation.
