"Mountain Laurel and Ferns" Art Quilt- 12.5"x16.5"

This Art Quilt uses photos of Mountain Laurel and Trillium flowers, and various ferns I took along the road I live on during the Spring. Photos were printed onto cotton fabric, and pieced or cut up and appliqued onto the composition. The tree is textured with various yarns and fibers to give the look of the mosses and lichens that grow on the bark in this wooded area. Machine quilting adds more interest and texture, and the piece is edged with a textured mossy green yarn.

This Art Quilt will bring a bit of the beauty of nature into your home. It can be displayed as it is by hanging from a dowel placed through the hanging sleeve on the back. The piece could also be matted and framed, or mounted on a stretched artist canvas.

The area of Pennsylvania I live in is very rural and beautiful. I love to take photos of the flowers, plants, rocks and more that I find while walking near my home or in my gardens. These photos are finding there way into my art as I print them onto cotton or silk fabrics to include in my art quilts.
