The seed bead chart 'Bead Weight and Measures' states the amounts are approximate and may vary, estimating size 8 seed beads thus: "1 hank = 2960 beads", 5 hanks = 1/2 kilo or 500 grams. I chose a random 1.1 ounce package to 'count' and found 1,562 beads in the package.
