Vintage earrings, rhinestone, sapphire blue set, screw back sterling.

These are vintage earrings and oh wow, so pretty. The center stone is a lovely sapphire blue and one quarter inch in diameter. It is encircled with 8 small rhinestones, and all are prong set for a total diameter of 3/8 inch in a flower design. The back of the screw has Sterling on it in a tiny circle.

They cleaned easily and are in very good condition, with still a little tarnish visible, but let's call it patina. The screw moves easily and it butts nicely against the back of the earring for a secure fit. They sparkle and glitter like new.

Now some nostalgia....it's 1960 again...

When the lights dimmed in the old gymnasium, and the crepe paper streamers hid the basketball goals, wasn't your Prom night special? These earrings remind me of that era, when dressing up meant really getting fancy and something like these earrings would have been perfect with the bouffant hairdo and strapless chiffon dress for that special night....

Oh he's asking you to dance, wow the old gym floor really shines doesn't it, we're gliding... And look there's Margie with her dorky boy friend, and there's that cool looking guy in the leather jacket - wonder if he knows how to dance? He's got that comb out, slicking back the duck tail and he's cutting in on Freddie--oh wow, he wants to do The Twist!

Sure am glad we got the formal dress with bone-in stays to hold it up, this is not like doing The Twist in my dad's white shirt and rolled up jeans--it's FANTASTIC!
