Seaweed quartz received its name from the luscious color which reminds one of the ocean plants of the same name. Each of the quartz stones in this necklace is unique, with swirls and eddies of pale grey-green to more vibrant hues. The seaweed quartz segments are hand wrapped with sterling silver wire and are separated by freshwater pearls. The overall feeling of the necklace is like a misty morning walk along the beach.

I wanted to create a piece that was thematically ocean oriented without the use of the standard blues. When I came across these stones it was love at first glance. Not only was the name of the stone perfect, but the wonderful variations of color and swirls within each stone, reached into the depths of my imagination. To further the ocean theme I used beautiful white freshwater pearls.
