The Spiral as a symbol has it's roots in Ancient History. In early Chinese culture, it was determined to be a symbol for the Sun. Perhaps it is the mathematical characteristics of a spiral that created it's appeal to our minds then and now? We see the spiral in all of it's forms repeated throughout nature, in seashells and the patterns of moving water, in the growth rings of trees. The hypnotic powers of a moving spiral has surely mesmerized quite a few of us. I am forever drawn to the spiral, and would use it almost exclusively in my work if not distracted by another thing or two! Perhaps many people gravitate towards this symbol too, so I am playing with a few and putting them in my store. This one is 20mm in diameter and 32mm long, with a cubic zirconium of pale orange at it's center, it was handcrafted with silver metal clay. I am presenting it here on a leather cord with sterling silver findings including an S clasp. The cord is a choker style measuring 15.5 inches.
