Azurite Heishi. The strand is 2mm in diameter and 21" in length.
Heishi is a tubular bead originally made by the Native Americans of the Southwestern United States. At the Santa Domingo Pueblo (60 miles north of Albuquerque) the art was perfected. It goes well in all styles of jewelry but is particularly suited to chokers, earrings and necklaces.
