I am B.Burkett, an artist who handcrafts and solders, original filigree jewelry. Unlike the mass produced jewelry and findings that are called "filigree," my handcrafted filigree calls for hours of concentration. Each and every swirl is formed for it's particular space and soldered onto the design, being very careful that the flame is at a precise temperature so the wires are attached but not melted. Although I had already been doing wire wrapped filigree, I learned to do this type of soldered filigree from Jeanne Rhodes-Moen's book, titled Silver Threads: Making Wire Filigree Jewelry.
