This is a unique art form using instruments and techniques developed by myself since 2000. You will not find anything like this anywhere else in the world. I also call it sand calligraphy or beach calligraphy. The letters and designs are carved directly into the sand and photographed before the ocean claims it.

This doodle was done on a particularly lovely winter afternoon at Camps Bay, Cape Town. It was an amazing sunset - one of those evenings where the red of the sunset and the blue of the sky mingle to make purple on the sand and the water. The beach was full of soccer fans and the various restaurants and pubs on the beachfront behind me buzzed with loud talk and raucous singing. While I was working I talked to fans from South Korea, Spain, England (shame, very sad chap) and Saudi Arabia.
