This is a unique art form using instruments and techniques developed by myself since 2000. You will not find anything like this anywhere else in the world. I also call it sand calligraphy or beach calligraphy. The letters and designs are carved directly into the sand and photographed before the ocean claims it.



ArtFire is the first avenue I have explored for selling prints online.

When I carved this one, I looked at it and turned away without photographing it. The scene somehow didn't satisfy me. However, when I came back to it later, the wind had worked on it and some low cloud was blowing in, softening the light all round. It was not your typical clichéd sunset-reflected-in-still-water kind of peace scene but as I stood there alone on that huge beach with the wind in my hair and the incoming weather raising goosebumps on my skin, I thought, "Yeah, that's my kind of peace."
