This is a unique art form using instruments and techniques developed by myself since 2000. You will not find anything like this anywhere else in the world. I also call it sand calligraphy or beach calligraphy. The letters and designs are carved directly into the sand and photographed before the ocean claims it.



ArtFire is the first avenue I have explored for selling prints online.

This piece was carved on Zeebrugge beach in July 2008 during a month-long performance there. I was trying to create the impression of an ancient message from the ocean. The letters are loosely based on those of ancient writing systems such as Tifinagh, Phoenecian, ancient Greek, Shumom. In a sense, it is just a doodle. It was accepted for the 2009 showcase edition of the Letter Arts Review - the world's premier calligraphy magazine.
