Product Description
In this lesson you'll create a Bangle Bracelet using wire with macramé! In the 70's this technique was used for plant hangers, glass table hangers, belts and outlandish wall-hangings that were made with jute and nylon. The resurgence in the early 90's with Hemp Jewelry made macramé popular once again. I have a feeling that hemp is here to stay, especially with its modern softness of its fiber, but since many artists also enjoy using wire, it was only natural to use as an alternative knotting material. Copper is the softest and easiest, but dead-soft silver may also be used.

The bracelet is worked using the "square knot",

also known as Solomon's knot, flat knot and

sinnet.

Note: Instructions are for a 7 1/4" bracelet but other sizes given in parenthesis. If you require an 8" bracelet, instead of working 3 square knots, work 4 square knots in beginning, between beads and at end. For smaller 6 1/2" bracelet, work 2 square knots.
