With no disrespect to Neil Diamond's song Red Red Wine, these 6 lentils are actually made from an olive green bottle! I had heard of glass artists doing this but had to try it myself!

3 of the lentils have been wrapped with a bit of the glass which has been silvered.

They are 19mm lentils and the stringing holes are 1/16".

After visiting some friends and drinking some wonderful wine together, I thought..."that green glass is gorgeous....I wonder if I could make some beads out of it?"

So I asked our hostess if I could have the empty bottle and brought it home and whacked it with a hammer!
