Exotic red cinnabar 7 round beads bracelet with 2 red seed beads between each heart and a goldtone toggle clasp. Each cinnabar bead has a beautiful raised flower in the center on the top and bottom and pretty detail work.

Cinnabar is from China and is used a lot in oriental jewelry. It looks so pretty with the goldtone toggle clasp. I love anything with cinnabar.

Bracelet is 8 inches long, but I usually wear a 7 - 7 1/2" braacelet and it fits well, due to the large beads.

Cinnabar was developed in China as a coating on lacquerware to give wood a beautiful opaque red color. It was originally composed of highly toxic Red Mercury Sulfide. True Cinnabar can no longer be made because it is extremely dangerous. In the modern jewelry industry, the toxic pigment is replaced by a resin-based polymer that approximates the appearance of pigmented lacquer. This is sometimes called "imitation" cinnabar, but it is actually the only cinnabar you will find on the market today.
