I love natural crystal shapes, they're all so interesting, so many shapes and colors. All beryls, including aquamarine, form tabular hexagonal crystals, there are two more or less flat faces on a six sided crystal. This particular aquamarine crystal is a lovely shade of cerulean blue, like a clear mid-morning sky in early June, and follows that classic format and the wire woven bezel follows that six sided shape in turn.

Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, historically it has always been associated with water and was considered a protective stone for sailors and seafarers. Aquamarine is said to have a cooling, calming effect on the wearer.

I made the sterling and fine silver beads that make up the figure 8 station chain so that each one balances the weight of the bead on the opposite side but doesn't match it visually. This gives this necklace an unparalleled allure because the texture adds a sparkling, shifting motion with your every breath.

The 1.75" pendant features a single flat 1" rough aquamarine crytal with an almost drusy surface and tiny flashing rainbows. All metal parts of this necklace were cold forged by hand.

This 17" necklace consists of .925 and .999 handmade wire wrapped beads securely connected by handcrafted figure 8 links. Additional handmade beads with figure 8 links may be added at $15.00 per bead, or figure 8 links connected by jump rings may be added at $7.00 per link.
