Interest abounds in this sterling silver wire wrapped necklace featuring very unusual gray, black and blue multi color glass beads in a fringed bib style. The handmade leaf and tendril hook and eye clasp is unique to this piece.

This unusual necklace is all about fun. Inspired by the flirty, happy styles of the 1920's, this one has a strong fringe element that circles the entire necklace. This necklace is spirited and would be a great necklace for parties or clubbing. It would look amazing with a layered boho dress or for period costuming.


The beaded station chain is made of round frosted glass beads with a swirl of black through the glass and an iridescent coating The fringe in the back is short, just a layer of polished glass teardrops, the body of the teardrops are clear with a pink cast, one side has a shining black finish and a similar iridescent coating(called aurora borealis coating in the trade). The fringe grows longer in the front with the addition of small faceted black glass beads, also with an A/B coating. The central bead at the bottom of the very front row of fringe is a beautiful vintage German piece, an oval of pure black with an inlay of iridescent blue and gold that looks a bit like abalone at first glance.

That's the thing about all of the glass that drew me in: they all seem to mimic naturally occurring stones... at first glance. The round and teardrop beads bear a resemblance to labradorite, the faceted black glass looks at first glance a little like black opal.

This necklace is eighteen inches long, all metal parts were hand crafted. Additional beads may be added at a cost of $3.00 per bead.
