Whether the occasion is a formal black tie event, a Ren Faire or an extravagant wedding, you will definitely be the center of attention in it. Designed to fit my idea of what a "real" faerie princess would love to wear, this crown would look right at home resting on Galadrial's curls.

This is a very different crown, it's a totally unique, one of a kind item that you will never see another human being wear. This crown was made to bring out the magic in the moment. The heavy sterling silver base supports a plethora of scroll work made from square sterling silver wire. The scroll work is filled with fine silver weaving to create a lace-like effect.

I used a large Herkimer diamond as the central element and flanked it with a pair of natural indicolite crystals in little coiled wire frames, and topped them both with tiny fine silver scrolls while the base of the Herkimer diamond quartz crystal is highlighted with another indicolite slab.. As the finishing touch, I embellished the lacy scroll work with tiny faceted rainbow moonstones and rare alexandrites and tanzanites. These gemstones were chosen for their own fairy-like qualities in their colors and the way they play with light since both alexandrite and tanzanite are color changing stones.

Tanzanite hails from hot Tanzania while alexandrite comes to us from cold Russia so these two stones represent a meeting of opposites. Metaphysically speaking, alexandrite is associated with mental clarity, memory, communication and perception while tanzanite has the reputation in it's native country of being an aid to relaxation, being especially effective for those who are under intense pressures. Rainbow moonstone is said to have a positive effect on the dream state and quartz has long been associated with being a generally good healing stone.

The interior of the base measures seven inches in length and five and a half inches in width. The embellishments at the front stand two and a half inches above the base and stretch across the front five inches.
