"May Flower" is an original art flower. I made it with a delicate variety of imported chirimen (Japanese crepe), vintage kimono fabric and a shimmering glass bead with white stamens.

Please keep in mind that color may differ as color does not display the same on different computer monitors.

The palest color in this flower is made from vintage kimono remnants given to me by a friend living in Kyoto. It's pale and delicate pink accentuates the more vibrant, all new chirimen also in this design.





The lotus flower is rich with symbolism. The Japanese "Flower Language" (hanakotoba) for the lotus includes self possession, eloquence purity and holiness.
