Shard Mosaic "YELLOW SUN" art piece is suspended within a shadow box frame. The Shadow-box frame is hand-crafted by artist (me) Journi. The measurements of the shadow-box is: 28"H x 11"W x 1 3/4" deep. Frame is painted with semi-gloss black acrylic and the inside of this shadow-box is also painted with the same. The 4 corner's of the shadow-box is embellished with 1 brass tack on each front corner.



The Shard Mosaic art piece was placed inside of the shadow-box and is suspended by (hidden) wood blocks and then attached to the shadow-box with heavy screws. The measurements for the Shard Mosaic piece is: 23.5"H X 11"W. The Shard Mosaic piece was created on thick wood backing. I used plate shards in colors of greens that gradually fade to creamy yellow and then, again, fades into golden colors. I used a large green glass gem and three solid black marbles. Black grout was used for the entire mosaic piece and then was sealed with a matte finish.



There is a suspended "Yellow Sun" mosaic'd piece that is also suspended onto the main mosaic piece which is surrounded by multi-color glass beads which I stringed on wire. The "Yellow Sun" is made from a used CD. I used a beautiful blue saucer shards and golden colored plate shards to complete the 'sun-dial'. In the middle of the "Yellow Sun" is one found silver earring - in the middle of the earring is an orange gem.



Also attached to the main mosaic piece is a votive glass holder made from plumber's metal strapping-tape. The votive glass holder is clear and comes with one white votive candle.



This piece weighs 9lbs. and should be hung with a thick sturdy nail. I have used a heavy-duty picture holder on the back.
