This Red Hat sun catcher is approximately 3.5"x7" and is made of a vibrant red cathedral glass with contrasting purple "scarf."
Each piece of transparent cathedral glass was individually hand cut using a traditional hand held glass cutter and then ground to its final shape. Copper foil was applied to the edges of all the pieces before they were soldered together. The finished piece was then cleaned, and polished. It comes complete and ready to give as a gift with a product tag and a suction cup for hanging.

An original design, it would make a great birthday gift for any woman who has made it to 50 years whether she is an official member of the Red Hat Society or not. The clashing red and purple celebrates age and gives the owner permission to toss convention aside and enjoy life in the moment as suggested by Jenny Joseph in her poem "Warning".
