This shaker style oval box is 9 inches long by 6-1/2 wide and 2-1/4 high--a perfect size for storing gloves, handkerchiefs, keys, sun glasses, and other small items on an entrance table; or use it elsewhere as an accent piece. Handcrafted by Snaggy Hollow Craftsmen in Saluda, NC from Blue Ridge Mountain grown poplar trees, this box is light weight yet sturdy. Made without the finger overlaps or brass brads, this simpler box perfectly compliments the strong clean lines of this design. The interior has a medium dark brown stain finish.

This charming stylized bird and flower motif painted in vibrant jewel tones and softened with antiquing is characteristic of the Swiss 18th century style of bauernmalerei (folk art or peasant painting) from the Toggenburg Region called Traubenstil (Grape Style). Rich earthy hues and strong lines make this piece suitable as an accessory in both masculine as well as feminine décor.
