Product Description
I thought that this lovely cameo would be signed as it looks like QUALITY to me.

The Carved Bakelite? cameo is exquisite; encircled by textured golden scrolled setting.

Excellent workmanship and design.

She probably would look even more delightful after a cleaning but I am no expert in that field and she is far too lovely and exquisite to risk damage to her classic beauty. Once upon a time I cleaned the pink right off the peach on a souvenir spoon, and since then I leave cleaning of vintage pieces to others lest I damage them in my ignorance.
have a close look at the pictures.....after all they say that a picture is worth a thousand words!!

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Time to let someone else enjoy this lovely gal.
I received these emails which I pass along--- QUOTE: - Not carved, or bakelite, plastic resin poured in a mold. Thought you should know. Don It is the White or Ivory on Carnelian Classic Lady (sometimes call a Pony Tail lady) I hate to call them that because no self respecting Victorian lady who had to ride in a carriage behind a smelly horse would want her hair named after a horse's tail. It is just a bit of hair that escaped her worn up hair style.
Bakelite was only used for a short period of time until better resins and plastics were developed and usually brown and often used for fake Amber. Very brittle and would not have been carved very well either."
I do not know ......you decide. The detail is excellent at any rate.
AND
QUOTE: Old yellowed cameos can be brightened wih half water and half bleach. Just drop them in it. Doesn't take long so watch them or don't leave more than a few minutes. The bleach will not melt the resin. I had a bunch of old ones really yellowed. The seller thought people would like the "patina" they just looked dirty and smoke filmed to me so I followed her suggestion and the bleach worked much better than I thought it would. Some may take longer than others in a batch. I just used a shallow dish so I could see what was going on with them."
AND I still stand by reluctance to clean vintage items that may be valuable but I though I should pass it on-----you as buyer may wish to try it.
