Glass bugle beads, sequins and cork...

I remember making these as a young teenager in the 50's or early 60's.......

First you carefully cut a round cork ball in half with a really sharp knife. (Remember styrofoam was not yet available at least not readily.)

Step two was to put a glass bugle bead and a matching sequin on a straight pin and push it into the cork..repeating until every bit of cork was hidden.

Then glue on the screw back ...

Voila ..lightweight and attractive earrings.
