A scented handmade natural palm wax pillar candle from Candles by Donald. The pink-colored natural palm wax pillar is scented with a fragrance called Southern Magnolia. Described as fresh like Magnolia buds opening madly. While pouring this 3 inch diameter, 4 1/2 inches tall natural palm wax pillar scented with magnolia blossom, I found the bouquet fantastic. Luxuriously romantic aptly describes this terrific fragrance. The crisp clean scent of hundreds of Southern Magnolia blossoms opening is rich and relaxing. I have colored this candle pink that becomes silvery at the ridges of the starburst crystal effects. This effect is characteristic for Palm Wax and very beautiful. Palm wax is a fantastic material for making candles that burns with very little soot. The candle has good cold and hot fragrance throw, and weighs one pound. I have sized the wick to create a thin wall around the flame as the candle burns. The flame shinning through the crystal loaded candle walls and the body of the candle gives off a very nice visual effect. Eventually the wall will erode into the wax pool of the candle. It is very important to keep the wick centered in order to maximize this effect and get the longest burn times from the candle. All the candles I have in stock are very similar to the photos but not exact, there will be slight variations in the crystal pattern. The wax has a very different feel to it, and an awesome appearance due to the crystal formations on the surface of the candle. I have shrink wrapped the candle to preserve its freshness. A metallic safety label is included, and affixed to the bottom of the candle. This label may remain on the candle while burning. I have attached a custom designed label to the shrink-wrapping. This label is the name of the scent and includes a short description. As you can tell this is a nicely packaged natural palm wax pillar candle and would certainly make a wonderful gift. I have used a premium fragrance, and blend of palm wax. Burn this candle much like any other candle. Use the following guidelines to get the most out of your purchase:
1. Keep the wick centered within the within the diameter of the candle. Do not allow the hot wax to break through the candle wall, extinguish the candle and relight as soon as the candle cools.
2. Trim the wick to 3/16 to 1/4 inches prior to burning. Too long a wick will cause the candle to flicker uncontrollably. This reduces the life of the candle, but a little flicker is okay.
3. Burn the candle in an area absent of drafts, and for 2 - 2 1/2 hours at a time or roughly 50 minutes per inch of diameter. Try to keep the wall intact; do not allow the flame to melt a hole in the wall by extinguishing after 2.5 hours, and centering the wick. Relight the candle once the wax is cool.
4. Follow all the safety guidelines written on the candle labels.
