The writer Victor Hugo once said, "to learn to read is to light a fire." I hope my handcrafted bookmark, featuring this quotation in Art Nouveau style script, can help inspire that love of reading! This listing is for my quotation bookmarks printed in blue ink on blue paper.

I sketched and carved art nouveau style lettering and hand-printed this bookmark in blue, water-based ink, on light blue cotton rag paper. I had it laminated for durability. The water-based inks don't have the harsh and dangerous chemicals that oil-based inks often contain.

This would make a great gift for a bibliophile (a lover of books), especially those fans of Victor Hugo's classic writings.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
I carved the rubber print block over the course of five days, and hand-inked each bookmark. Each bookmark may be slightly different, due to the inking application, but none will be lightly-printed, double printed, or smudgy. Prints can only be as mass-produced and uniform as the printer's skill, but no shoddy work goes into this studio.

No mechanical printers or digital images were used in the making of this bookmark!
