White Edwardian era cotton petticoat with a hand crochet trim. It is probably circa 1900 - 1910.

There is one flat fell side seam, (no raw edges), which is machine sewn in TINY stitches. The waist is gathered and has a set in waist band. The waist has no buttons, and no indications that it was pin closed, so it's possible that this petticoat was never worn.

There are 5 rows of tiny pin tucks at the bottom and a border of hand crochet lace trim that is attached by hand. The crochet lace is in excellent condition with no tears or stains, and is just under 4" (10cm) deep.

I can't find any tears anywhere on this petticoat. There are some yellow stains on the cotton fabric, (front and back), but they don't affect the durability of the fabric itself. It is clean and has been stored in a cedar chest.

Length from the top of waist to bottom of the lace is 35" (89cm), and waist circumference is approximately 24" (61cm).

Note - Waist can be extended to 25" with a button and loop closure, (loop made of fabric or elastic), to extend the waist measurement about an inch.

Would be perfect for a Renaissance Fair!
