Howlite is a borosilicate hydroxide mineral, discovered in Nova Scotia and named after it's discoverer Henry How. This beautiful silicate is often dyed, sometimes called Poor Man's turquoise. In it's natural state it is an opaque white with gray, brown to black veining.
