Our sweatshirts are in unisex sizes. This sweatshirt is made of a 50/50 cotton/polyester blend material in a lovely Black and has a matching drawstring. The chest measurement of the garment for a Large is 48 inches around and has a length of 28 inches. There is also a wonderful pouch pocket on the front which can be used for keeping your hands warm or your cell phone handy!

The focus of this sweatshirt is this wonderfully distinctive appliqué embroidery design. The appliqué is made of a 100% cotton fabric. The background of this fabric is black with bright green shamrocks and flourishes. The embroidery accents are done in a bright green with a green satin stitch outline. The outline holds the appliqué fabric in place as well as keeps the fabric from unraveling.

The Shamrock is a symbol of Ireland. It is said that this tradition was started by St. Patrick in the 6th century when trying to convert Ireland to Christianity. He used the Shamrock to illustrate the holy trinity. According to the Oxford English Dictionary this is a 'late tradition' to the word, appearing in 1726. Thus, providing evidence to contradict the story of St. Patrick (We like the story anyway). None the less, in the 18th century the shamrock became widely used as a symbol for Ireland, much like the thistle is used for Scotland, the leek for Wales and the rose for England.
