Product Description
Do you need something that screams Irish? Do you need to cover up a small hole in your favorite jacket? Our Ireland flag patch will do the trick. All you need to do is sew it on and you're done.

This patch is made of a heavy duty 100% cotton canvas in white. It is rectangular with rounded edges. On top it is embroidered with a green bar on the left third and orange on the right. This creates the Flag of Ireland. Around the edge is a satin stitch in black. Not only does this give the patch a wonderfully finished look, but it also keeps the patch from fraying. Fused on the back of the fabric is stabilizer. This holds the stitches in place and also helps with the durability of the patch.

Our SEW-ON patches are great for personalizing any item. These can include (but are in no way limited to) your jeans, jacket, backpack, messenger bag, sweatshirt, or hat. Or you may just want to add to your patch collection.

Each of our patches is cut by hand and then individually embroidered. This means that each one may look just a little different, but not much.

Approximate size: 3.85"w x 2.95"h

Your patch will be sent via USPS First Class Certified Mail.

Thank You for Looking.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
The national flag of Ireland is a green, white and orange tricolor. The green is to represent the Gaelic tradition of Ireland, the orange is the flowers of William of Orange and the white is peace or truce between them. This flag was presented by a group of French women sympathetic to the cause of Irish independence to Thomas Francis Meagher in 1848. It was not until 1916's Easter Rising that the flag was hoisted over the General Post Office in Dublin that it was considered a national symbol. In 1919 the flag was used during the war of independence by the Irish Republic. It was also used from 1922-1937 by the Irish Free State. Then in 1937 it was given official status in the Constitution of Ireland. The flag is still used by Irish nationalists on both sides of the boarder to symbolize a united Ireland.
