This is our Sew-on Galicia Flag patch. Galicia is considered one of the seven Celtic nations. This patch would be perfect for those that trace their heritage back to Galicia, Spain or anyone that loves Celtic history and culture. It is also fitting for the traveler that collects mementos commemorating the places they've been.
The flag of Galicia is a white field with a light blue band going from the top left corner to the bottom right. Originally this flag was from the maritime province of A Coruña and was the reverse of the Scottish St. Andrew's Cross (blue on white instead of white on blue). Due to confusion in 1891, one of the arms was dropped from the St. Andrew's Cross so the flag no longer resembled that of the Imperial Russian Navy.
The body of our patch is made of a heavy duty 100% cotton canvas in white. It is cut into a rectangle with rounded corners. The band is embroidered in a light blue. The patch has a black satin stitch. This gives the flag a wonderfully finished look as well as preventing the fabric from fraying. There is stabilizer fused to the back. This helps hold the embroidery stitches in place as well as contribute to the longevity of the patch.
Our SEW-ON patches are great for personalizing any item. These can include (but are in no way limited to) your jeans, jacket, backpack, messenger bag, sweatshirt, or hat. Or you may just want to add to your patch collection.

Each of our patches is cut by hand and then individually embroidered. This means that each one may look just a little different, but not much.

Galicia is in the north west of Spain and boarders Portugal. It is probably the most controversial of the seven Celtic nations. This is due to the fact that it's Celtic language, Celtiberian, was one of the first Celtic languages to be lost. Apart from the language, there are many aspects of Galicia that still closely resemble its Celtic cousins, namely its music.
