I started this soft glass heart with a base of transparent root beer brown glass, then I wrapped it in fine silver foil and layers of silver reduction glass from Double Helix. After I reduced the Double Helix glass, I covered it with clear glass to magnify the lovely swirly colors and then finished shaping it into a heart. I create each of my lampwork hearts using soft glass, fine silver foil, and my torch. While the basics of creating each heart are the same, variations naturally occur, giving each heart its own shape and personality. Once I'm finished making a heart, it goes into my digitally-controlled kiln to anneal (cool down) properly. Each heart pendant/ornament ships with an adjustable black cotton cord - the cord is a little stiff at first, but it gets softer with wear (like a new pair of jeans). Your purchase is wrapped in white tissue paper and tied with pretty yarn, then wrapped in bubble wrap for safety before mailing. I recycle & reuse mailing materials whenever and wherever possible.
