I love Thimbles! Ive collected them for years, so I decided to make them out of glass just like my beads.

This thimble is one of my Friendly Fowl thimbles featuring 3 white Swans, a Momma and 2 babies swimming on a pond on a chilly spring day.

It measures 27mm tall and 24 mm wide.

It is made with a white glass base upon which enamels were added for the pond and sky. The birds were placed with a bit of grass to nibble and a chubby cattail bending in the breeze. Then a line of Gold Adventurine is added to the bottom ring for added sparkle. Very pretty!

All my Thimbles are made with Effetre, Moretti, Vetrofond, Lauscha and Ornela glass rods or a combination there of and have been properly annealed in a digitally controlled kiln overnight for lasting durability.

Each thimble is individually hand made, detailed and signed by glass artist, Colleen Schroll. It is a unique, one of a kind thimble and no two are exactly alike.

The thimbles were made by myself in my little studio right in the middle of cow country in Missouri. Ive been making beads and glass pens for over 18 years now and enjoy every minute I can get at the torch. I just recently added thimbles to my glass play and really enjoy thinking up new designs for such a small space. Although I usually can grab about two hours in the evening to devote to beads and things.
