I love Thimbles! I've collected them for years, so I decided to make them out of glass just like my beads.

This thimble is a "Wild and Wonderful" carefree design. It is made with red base with some silvered Electra glass. It has bubble dots of Electra encased in clear that give a magnified effect with tiny dots of silvered clear and blue glass. Then the whole thing is bathed in a reduction flame to bring out the deep blues, purples and mirrored effects in the silvered glass. It is very beautiful!

It measures 27mm tall and 24 mm wide.


All my Thimbles are made with Effetre, Moretti, Vetrofond, Lauscha, Devardi and Ornela glass rods or a combination there of and have been properly annealed in a digitally controlled kiln overnight for lasting durability.

Each thimble is individually hand made, detailed and signed by glass artist, Colleen Schroll. It is a unique, one of a kind thimble and no two are exactly alike

The thimbles were made by myself in my little studio right in the middle of cow country in Missouri. I've been making beads and glass pens for over 18 years now and enjoy every minute I can get at the torch. I just recently added thimbles to my glass play and really enjoy thinking up new designs for such a small space. Although I usually can grab about two hours in the evening to devote to beads and things.
