I love Thimbles! I've collected them for years, so I decided to make them out of glass just like my beads. This one I dubbed "Creme De Menthe" it is "Moca Java's" and "Creme Brulee's" minty sister.


This thimble is a "Wild and Wonderful" design made with CIM Dirty Martini as a base. Then a silvered glass pulled into stringers was applied. Molded ,heated then raked and twisted. . Then the thimble was put in reduction flames and this brought out the mirrored colors from the silvered glass. The silvered glass fumed the Dirty Martini glass and gave it a golden "Halo". It is very beautiful!


It measures 27mm tall and 24 mm wide.


All my Thimbles are made with Effetre, Moretti, Vetrofond, Lauscha and Ornela glass rods or a combination there of and have been properly annealed in a digitally controlled kiln overnight for lasting durability.


Each thimble is individually hand made, detailed and signed by glass artist, Colleen Schroll. It is a unique, one of a kind thimble and no two are exactly alike.


The thimbles were made by myself in my little studio right in the middle of cow country in Missouri. I've been making beads and glass pens for over 18 years now and enjoy every minute I can get at the torch. I just recently added thimbles to my glass play and really enjoy thinking up new designs for such a small space. Although I usually can grab about two hours in the evening to devote to beads and things.
