A green lizard scurries across grass green satin on this custom hand embroidered guitar strap. His destination is a thatch of hand embroidered bamboo grass of variegated green threads. The eyes and tongue of the lizard are red glass seed beads and a stripe of brown-green thread runs down the lizard's back. The guitar strap is lined on the back with light green satin and the leather tabs are black premium suede leather.

I live in Florida and we have lizards... lots and lots of lizards. The most common lizard in Florida is the Green Anole. You can watch them display and threaten and generally strut around like tiny titans. They have a bright red dew lap, a little throat fan, that they use for mating and establishing territory. I will probably make another strap one day of a Green Anole in profile so you can see the throat fan. But, this guitar strap is intended to be just a momentary slice of Florida and I hope you like it.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Florida summers are characterized by these little green lizards running for the cool of the grass. It's just a brief Florida moment I wanted to capture in needle and thread. I hope you like it!

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
