A most unusual pure Dupioni silk custom handmade guitar strap! Colorful, offset, large plaid squares of burgundy, crimson, silver, and muted red dominate this guitar strap with shades that abut each other and emphasize the trend setting nature of the strap. The back lining of the strap is red satin and the leather tabs are black premium suede leather.

Dupioni silk is the result of two silk worms spinning their silk threads in one cocoon. The threads from each silk worm intertwine into an especially resilient, strong thread and, because each silk worm's thread is slightly different in color, the fabric has a slight iridescent sheen to it. This is a very elegant, very unusual guitar strap, truly one of a kind.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Plaid has taken on a new significance in the music world and I have had several requests for an expanded selection of plaid straps. Silk is by far the most elegant fabric and Dupioni silk one of the densest and most durable silk weaves. I think this strap captures the class of silk and the casualness of plaid. I hope you like it!

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
