This incredibly beautiful custom handmade guitar strap is green silk trim imported from India. The silk is extremely densely hand embroidered with a stylized floral scroll work using gold metallic embroidery thread in Zari embroidery style. The front of the guitar strap is almost completely filled with thousands of tiny chain embroidery stitches. The side of the guitar strap is trimmed along the edge with iridescent sequins, and running up the center of the guitar strap are points of silver colored metal wound threads punctuated with a central sequin that matches the sequins on the trimmed edge. The back of the guitar strap is lined with white gold Duchess satin and the leather tabs are premium black suede leather.

Zari style hand embroidery is one of India's finest and most sought after embroidery techniques because the imagery is so ornate and the stitching so precise. The silk fabric is stretched over a wooden frame and, using a punch and hook needle, tiny chain stitches are created that are anchored through the material for a resilient, sturdy stitch. Zari embroidery was originally created using actual spun gold and silver threads but became so exorbitantly expensive that it fell from favor in Indian society. The development of synthetic metallic threads made the style affordable and it has re-emerged in India's textiles industry. The central silver colored wound metal threads in this guitar strap would, at one time, have been actual silver but I suspect these are steel or aluminum. The overall effect of the intense embroidery and vivid colors makes this guitar strap absolutely breath taking in its beauty.As with any repurposed material such as this, there may be minor flaws.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.

CARE AND CLEANING - Should your guitar strap become stained or grimy, have it dry cleaned or hand wash it keeping the leather tabs dry. Do not machine wash it.
