The setting sun sinking behind the ocean surf is composed of three different woods coated in a natural clear finish to make up the lid of this genuine mahogany box. The 4 3/4" by 7 3/4" cover image is made of curly maple (heartwood), Swiss pear wood, and hard maple (spalted) all framed in a mahogany border. The mahogany box, including the lid, sits 3" tall. The piece is signed and dated by the maker.
