We were able to purchase a small amount of this material from an old rock shop in the Tucson, Arizona area. The rock shop, which has been closed for some time now, called this material "Pinto Wash Picture Stone". We don't know what "Pinto Wash" they were referring to in the name.

The material itself appears to be a Rhyolite however it takes a very nice polish without having to treat the material so it is completely natural. Our supply of this material is very limited and it appears we will never find another source.
