Little is known about this material. It was only available for a short time many years ago. It is a beautiful example of a material that is no longer available.
We purchased a small amount of this material from a very old rock shop several years ago. Since then, the shop has closed so we are sure we will never be able to get any more of this wonderful jasper.
Oregonite is said to come from the Grants Pass area of Oregon.

The first three images were taken outdoors in full sun to get the most accurate colors possible in the photographs. The fourth image was taken indoors with a flash showing how the cabochon was measured.
