This one of a kind Fantasy Dragon Fairy was sculpted in polymer clay and portrays a green skinned Dragon Fairy holding her bonded baby dragon. The base of the sculpture measures 4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long. The pieces measures 4 inches tall. The Dragon fairy has pointy ears, black red, and purple hair, and wears a purple dress and red and black socks. Her wings were made from red, black, purple, and green clay swirled together. I used Blackberry Glass Effects paint to highlight the wings. Her baby dragon is a sparkling red color, with a purple underbelly and eyes made from blue glass beads. He's still pretty shy, and hides his face in his fairy's hair. The two are bonded for life and completely devoted to one another. I covered the base with felt and signed and dated it.

This piece was inspired by a number of things. My love of dragons, first of all. Halloween inspired the colors I chose to use. And my kitten Calcifer inspired the pose and position of the fairy and dragon. This is exactly how he cuddles up with me, right down to burying his face in my hair.
