Sculpted from polymer clay and decorated with vintage beads and jewelry components, this Oak Leaves and Acorn Brooch is a beautiful Autumn accessory. I sculpted two Oak leaves from green polymer clay, then dusted the unbaked clay with green and gold Pearl Ex powder. The acorn was also sculpted from clay and was dusted with red and gold Pearl Ex. The leaves and acorn are on a red clay background. The brooch is decorated with red and gold beads and jewelry findings from my grandmother's collection (she used to do a lot of beading). The beads were all secured with wire and liquid Sculpy before being baked. The pin back was secured with a combination of Liquid Sculpey which acts as glue once baked)and another layer of clay. The brooch is 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches tall.

This brooch was inspired by some Christi Friesen projects, and a desire to put Gramma's old beads to a good use. I just love how shiny this pretty Fall pin is!
