This fantasy scene was sculpted in polymer clay, with the base measuring about 8 1/2" by 8 1/2" and the seated fairy measuring 5 1/2" tall. The log was created with plaster, textured and painted. The stump which the owl is standing on was created the same way. The fairy was sculpted by hand in polymer clay. Her wings are painted and sealed paper. Her blue eyes and pink lips were painted with acrylic paint and her entire body was sealed with glaze. Her hair was made from brown mohair. The multitude of flowers were sculpted by hand in polymer clay and feature irises, lilies, and many smaller colorful flowers. The base of the sculpture is covered in fabric and I've signed and dated the bottom.

First I purchased the owl, then I imagined the scene. This is the wisest, oldest owl in the forest. All the denizens of the woods come to him for advice. This little fairy in purple is a close friend, and they often have long conversations as they sit amongst the beautiful flowers. This entire sculpture took several weeks to complete, the flowers being as time consuming as the fairy. I attempted to include as much detail as possible.
