This cute one of a kind cat necklace was sculpted by hand in polymer clay and features glass, and acrylic beads in shades of blue and green. The cat was sculpted from gray clay and has black stripes and his paws and the tip of his tail are white. His fur has been textured for even more detail. I mixed blue Pearl Ex powder with high gloss glaze and gave the cat's eyes a beautiful blue green iridescent shimmer. I wrapped a glass bead with a green polymer clay string to create a ball of yarn, which the cat is clinging to (quite securely). The cat measures about 2 1/2 inches long and the necklace is 22 inches long with a silver lobster clasp. The necklace has handmade bi-cone beads made from green polymer clay and sealed with the same iridescent blue green glaze I used on the cat's eyes. These beads are finished with silver plated bead caps. There are also blue faceted fire polished glass beads, clear glass heart beads with swirls of blue running through them, teal blue glass beads, and iridescent faceted acrylic beads which appear to be blue, green, or purple, depending on the light. This unique necklace would make a wonderful gift for any cat lover!

The cat holding onto the ball of yarn was inspired by Christi Friesen's book Cats Big and Small. The idea of turning it into a necklace was all my own ;-) I included some of my favorite beads from my stash to complete this necklace. I love the effect of the Pearl Ex powder mixed with the glaze. It makes the cat's eyes so pretty! I spent a lot of time creating this one of a kind necklace. Cats are one of my favorite animals, and they feature prominently in much of my work.
