These pretty purple earrings were sculpted in polymer clay and measure 2 1/2" long and 2" wide with silver plated ear hooks. Before baking I impressed a veined pattern into the clay. After baking I rubbed shades of blue, pink, and purple oil pastels over the textured surface and lightly mixed the colors with my finger. Then i baked again to set the colors, and finally sealed the textured side with gloss glaze. These attractive earrings would be a great addition to any wardrobe.

I wanted to see how oil pastels worked with polymer clay. I like the effect, and the way the colors blended.
