This is Penelope. She is a 15" tall handcrafted cloth doll. She and her clothes were completely hand sewn. She's made from muslin and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. Her sparkling green eyes were painted with fabric paint and sealed with gloss glaze. Her hair is acrylic yarn and is pulled back at both sides of her face and held with purple ribbon roses. Her arms have plastic safety joints, making her poseable. Penelope is dressed in her Fairy Halloween costume, which was made from purple satin- like fabric. Some of the petals on the skirt have been painted with pink fabric paint. I've sewn white lace around the neck and waist of the dress, which fastens in the back with velcro. Penelope is also wearing matching purple slippers. Her underwear has her name printed on the waistband. Her wings were made by covering stiff felt with pink and purple scrapbook paper. I glued white lace around the edges of the wings, then sealed them with high gloss glaze, sprinkling the purple side with glitter. Elastic shoulder straps allow Penelope to wear the wings. Her Butterfly wand is made from polymer clay and sprinkled with glitter, then sealed with glaze. The wooden dowel handle is wrapped in white ribbon and has elastic that allows you to attach it to her hand. I've signed and dated the bottom of her right foot. Penelope is a one of a kind original creation who would make a wonderful gift.

Well, Halloween is fast approaching, and I've combined my love of the color purple with my love of fairies to create this adorable doll. I wish I had a costume like this when I was a kid!
