This colorful mask was created by hand using polymer clay over a fabric mask base. It measures 8" wide and 5" tall. It can be worn using the attached elastic, or hung on a wall as decoration. I cut a variety of polymer clay shapes out of purple, pink, and glow in the dark clays, then used several different texture plates to add texture to each piece before placing it on the mask base and attaching with Liquid Polymer Clay. Before baking I dusted the shapes with several different colors of Pearl EX, which gives the mask it's lovely iridescent sheen. After baking I sealed the entire mask with triple thick high gloss glaze. This mask is breathtaking in the daytime, or in the dark. It would make a lovely decoration, or addition to a Halloween costume.

I created this mask for the October Mask Challenge for the Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild. This is the first mask I've created, and I'm quite proud of the final result. The glow in the dark portions at the top, around the eyes, and on the nose look amazing in the dark. I had a blast with the Pearl Ex powders as well. They add so much depth and shimmer to the clay.
