If you always wanted to make your own corset but couldn't find the specialty pieces to do it, I'm here to help! As a professional corset maker myself, I can tell you that one of the most essential elements of an authentic corset is the front busk closure. A 12" busk is great for most styles of overbust corset including early Victorian and Civil War eras.

The corsets shown are examples of how you can use this busk and are not for sale at this time. It's made of steel for lots of tummy flattening power and the ends are tipped to keep it from poking or snagging through your fabric. It has 6 studs and loops to close the corset.

These things are hard to find if you don't know where to look! So snatch them up and get sewing!
