An oval Serpentine focal stone is encased in a bead woven bezel in this one of a kind, artisan necklace. The 35 x 40 mm Serpentine stone is encased in a seed bead bezel woven in colors that highlight and accent the colors of the Serpentine. Transparent and matte silver lined chartreuse seed beads, silver lined Delica beads in chartreuse, and lime seed beads in opaque, matte, transparent, and silver lined finishes combine to give a bright, cheerful and bold look to this handcrafted necklace.

A lush tassel 2 1/2 inches (6 cm.) long hangs from the center of the bezel, connected to the bezel by an 8mm olive green Czech fire polished crystal. Eight strands of fringe make up the tassel, some are straight fringe and some strands are coral fringe. Color and sparkle are added to the strands with the addition of 4 mm clear bicones and 4 mm round fire polished Czech crystals in olive. Hanging from either side of the center tassel are 2 smaller tassels consisting of 3 strands of fringe each. Besides adding color, sparkle and texture to the necklace, the large and small tassels add movement, too.

The triple spiral weave is woven in the same colors as the bezel. Serpentine chips are randomly woven into the spiral to add a rich texture and sculptural effect to the chain. The spiral chain connects to the bezeled Serpentine cabachon by an 8mm fire polished olive Czech crystal. The chain is approx. 14 inches (35 cm.) long and will lengthen to 16 inches (40 cm.) long by using the second loop in the peyote toggle and loop closure. Each end of the peyote toggle had a 4mm light green bicone bead on it.

The coordinating earrings that are included with the necklace are done in the same bead colors as the necklace. The six strand fringe earrings hang from an 4mm olive Czech fire polished crystal. They are on hypo allergenic surgical steel ear wires and are 2 inches (5 cm.) long.

It is believed that Serpentine has the ability to inspire respect for the elderly, and help with longevity and remembrance of past lives and retrieval of ancient wisdom.

I've had this stone for a while now, but could never figure out how I wanted to show it off. I got some lime and chartreuse seed beads and that was all it took for my muse to take off with this idea.
